The Texas Immigration Law Council exists to protect and promote the rights of immigrants and refugees of all nationalities in Texas. Formed in 2023 Texas Immigration Law Council is a nonpartisan statewide 501(c)(3) organization.

Attorney Fellow

Fellows will develop and pilot innovative strategies and leverage cutting-edge technology to increase access to a broad range of civil legal services for noncitizens through this two-year fellowship. Depending on your Project, you will utilize a variety of advocacy tools to provide direct legal services in transactional matters, administrative proceedings and/or litigation.

Legal Access Fellow

Fellows will develop and pilot innovative strategies to increase access to a broad range of civil legal services for noncitizens through this two-year fellowship. Fellows will be matched with a Project, each of which will focus on a distinct area of law. For instance, you may choose to work with children and disabled adults who need guardianships or with workers seeking to recover wages.

Equal Justice Works Fellow - Community Justice Worker Coordinator

The Equal Justice Works – Community Justice Worker Coordinator will play a vital role in TxILC’s groundbreaking initiative to transform noncitizen access to justice across Texas, utilizing Community Justice Workers (CJWs). CJWs are nonattorney legal advocates, some of whom will become licensed under new Supreme Court of Texas rules.

Equal Justice Works Fellow - Partnership & Education Coordinator

The Equal Justice Works Fellow – Partnership and Education Coordinator will play a vital role in integrating Community Justice Workers (CJWs) into Texas’s civil legal services landscape. CJWs are nonattorney legal advocates, some of whom will become licensed under new Supreme Court of Texas rules. 

Equal Justice Works Fellow - Technology Innovation Specialist

The Equal Justice Works Fellow – Technology Innovation Specialist will leverage technology to help noncitizens better understand their rights and access basic civil legal services. The Fellow will collaborate with the EJI legal team, 8-10 legal service providers, and community-based organizations.
