Senior Communications Manager

About Us 

The Texas Immigration Law Council exists to protect and promote the rights of immigrants and refugees of all nationalities in Texas. Formed in 2023 Texas Immigration Law Council is a nonpartisan statewide 501(c)(3) organization.  

 

Job Summary 

We are seeking a Senior Communications Manager to develop and implement a high-level communications strategy that effectively engages and unites diverse groups towards our goal of sensible immigration reforms. Reporting to the Director of Legal Services and Policy, the position will be responsible for developing strategies and campaigns to engage a broad spectrum of stakeholders and new voices across the political spectrum to find viable, non-partisan solutions to immigration issues.  

 

Location & Travel Demands 

This remote position can be performed from anywhere in Texas. Travel within Texas is required.  

 

Primary Job Functions 

Develop & Implement a Communications Strategy 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that encompasses media relations, digital and social media, and stakeholder engagement to promote immigration reform initiatives and immigrants’ ability to access justice.  
  • Work collaboratively with colleague organizations throughout Texas to identify communication opportunities and craft unified messaging on Texas’ need for immigration solutions that appeals to a wide audience, including policymakers, community leaders, and the public. 
  • Prepare communication materials, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and impactful. 
  • Prepare Texas Immigration Law Council staff to engage with the media, stakeholders, and the public. 
  • Serve as a liaison and resource for other non-profits in Texas working to advance immigration reforms, providing expertise and support in communications strategy and narrative framing. 
 

Qualifications 

  • Strong ability to develop strategic communications plans that engage diverse audiences and achieve organizational goals.  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex legal topics accessible for diverse audiences.  
  • Technology proficiency. Familiarity and interest in leveraging emerging social media, digital tools, and platforms to move forward the organization’s goals.  
  • Deep commitment and ability to uphold a nonpartisan stance.  
  • Respect for diverse perspectives, and a recognition that inclusive collaboration leads to stronger outcomes. 
  • Commitment to fostering a culture that values individuals and perspectives from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.  
 

Compensation & Benefits:  

Texas Immigration Law Council’ benefits and salaries are designed to support the needs of all employees, providing outstanding insurance coverage, generous time-off policies, flexible work hours, 401k employer contributions, and ample professional growth opportunities. The salary range for the Senior Communications Manager is $90,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
